About
Also known as: Lex van Berkel
Lex van Berkel, the Tilburg born DJ and producer who records as The Boy Next Door, built his name with a clever remix strategy that actually works. His remake of 'La Colegiala' with Fresh Coast and Jody Bernal put him on the map, charting in the Netherlands and Sweden and landing him a deal with Spinnin' Records. That momentum kept going when he teamed up with Kris Kross Amsterdam on 'Whenever', a rework of Shakira's 'Whenever, Wherever' featuring British singer Conor Maynard. That one went platinum in the Netherlands and crossed borders, showing he has a real knack for taking familiar sounds and giving them enough of a fresh spin to chart internationally. He also caught attention in 2017 as one of the promising acts featured on the Dutch reality show The Next Icons.
