About
Founded in Oakland in 2007 by frontman Lech Wierzynski, The California Honeydrops have carved out a devoted following with their roots deep blend of blues and retro soul. Their debut, Soul Tub!, dropped in 2008, and they have kept a remarkable pace since, racking up 13 albums on their own Tubtone Records imprint alongside extensive touring and festival appearances. The core lineup of Wierzynski, Benjamin Malament, Yanos 'Johnny Bones' Lustig, Lorenzo Loera, and Beaumont Beaullieu gives the band a tight, lived in sound that translates especially well live. Their catalogue stretches from original material like Like You Mean It and A River's Invitation to covers rooted firmly in the classic soul and R&B tradition, including nods to Ray Charles and The Drifters. Their most recent studio record, Keep On Diggin', came out in 2024.
