About
Also known as: Casualties, The Casualities, The Casulties
Street punk veterans The Casualties have been flying the flag for old school punk out of New York City since 1990, taking their cues from bands like The Exploited and Charged GBH at a time when that raw, gritty sound was considered a dying breed. They built their reputation the hard way, grinding through constant touring and a string of albums that kept the genre alive for a new generation. Landmarks along the way include their 1997 debut For the Punx, which they famously played in full during the 2012 Tonight We Unite tour, and a run of releases through Season of Mist that stretched deep into the 2010s. Long time frontman Jorge Herrera stepped back from touring in 2017 after nearly three decades, with David Rodriguez of The Krum Bums taking over vocals. The core of the band, guitarist Jake Kolatis and drummer Meggers, have kept things moving through every lineup shift. In late 2025 the band signed to Hellcat Records and announced a new album titled Detonate, their first in over eight years.
