About
Born out of house parties at the University of Washington, The Dip is a Seattle funk and R&B band with a setup you don't see every day: a full three piece horn section sitting right alongside standard pop instrumentation. The whole thing started when a few music students sharing a house near campus linked up with a horn trio called the Honeynut Horns who lived across the alley and played jazz on their balcony. That collision of sensibilities is basically the band's DNA. Since their 2015 self titled debut, they've built out a solid catalog including the album The Dip Delivers, two instrumental EPs, and Sticking With It, released in 2022 after signing with Dualtone Records. They've toured Europe alongside Durand Jones & The Indications, made a run through Japan, and hit festivals like Bonnaroo. The live show is clearly where they thrive, and the records back that energy up.
