About
Also known as: The Dirty Heads
Few bands blend reggae, hip hop, and rock as naturally as the Dirty Heads, the Huntington Beach crew that built a devoted following off sun soaked grooves and genuine SoCal energy. Their breakout moment came with "Lay Me Down", a collaboration with Rome Ramirez of Sublime With Rome that hit number one on the Alternative charts and stayed there for more than ten weeks. Their debut, Any Port in a Storm, pulled in some serious talent, with Slash and M. Shadows appearing on "Check the Level", Billy Preston adding Beatles credibility, and drums handled by Josh Freese, who has played with Sublime with Rome and Nine Inch Nails. Their 2014 album Sound of Change reached number two on Top Rock Albums and debuted at number one on Alternative Albums, cementing them as more than a regional act. They have shared stages with 311, Pepper, Matisyahu, and Sublime with Rome, and their catalog keeps growing. A more recent upload called "Island Glow" suggests the band has kept the good vibes rolling well into the 2020s.
