About
The Jewish Amsterdam Chamber Ensemble brings together Jewish, Israeli, classical and contemporary music into programmes that feel both culturally rich and widely accessible. The ensemble is closely associated with Amsterdam's annual Chanoeka concert, a tradition now running into its twelfth edition and held at the Grote Zaal of Het Concertgebouw. Each year the programme centres on a unifying theme, with recent editions exploring ideas like resilience, identity and freedom. Barry Mehler serves as musical director and Noa Eyl performs as concertmaster. The ensemble regularly collaborates with international guest musicians and draws audiences from both Jewish and non Jewish backgrounds, reflecting its commitment to connecting people through music and culture.
