About
The Ploctones play experimental jazz rock with a flair for variety, blending styles in ways that keep things unpredictable. The Dutch quartet originally operated under the rather unwieldy name Goudsmit, Trujillo, Vierdag & Vink before settling on their current name ahead of their 2007 North Sea Jazz Festival appearance. Their first album, Live op het dak!, captured a 2005 VPRO Jazz op het Dak rooftop session and set the tone for what was to come. Since then they have released a steady run of records including 050, 3... 2... 1..., and Ploc, building out a catalog that reflects their restless approach to jazz rock.
