About
Three guitarists. That's the first thing worth knowing about The Prize, a power pop and rock band from Melbourne, Australia. The three guitar setup gives their music a density and punch that fits neatly alongside classic acts like Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick, and the Buzzcocks, as well as fellow Australians Civic and the American band Split System. Their debut LP, titled In the Red, was met with genuine enthusiasm, with at least one reviewer describing it as the kind of record that hits you hard from the very first listen. Straightforward, hard hitting, and built for a loud room.
