Swing and jazz don't get much more storied than The Ramblers, a Dutch orchestra that will have been active for a full century come 2026. Led by trumpeter and composer Loet van der Lee, the twelve piece ensemble breathes life into swing classics like Strike Up The Band, Avalon and Farewell Blues, while carrying forward a repertoire that includes beloved Dutch numbers such as Wie is Loesje and Weet je nog wel, die avond in de regen. Their history stretches back far enough to include collaborations with jazz giants Coleman Hawkins and Benny Carter, which gives you a sense of the circles they have moved in. The current lineup brings together drums, piano, bass, guitar, baritone and alto saxophones, two tenor saxophones, trombone and three trumpets, a full orchestra sound that keeps the golden age of swing very much alive. They also have a flair for theatrical concert formats, pairing their music with storytelling and a generous dose of nostalgia.
