About

The Rose started out busking on the streets of Hongdae, and that scrappy beginning turned into one of K pop's more unusual rock success stories. The Seoul four piece, Kim Woosung, Park Dojoon, Lee Hajoon and Lee Taegyeom, broke through with their 2017 debut single "Sorry", a soft rock track that Rolling Stone India singled out for Woosung's raspy, controlled vocals. Billboard put it on its list of the best Korean pop songs of that year, which is a big deal for a rookie band, and later tipped them as a breakout act to watch. They followed up with the mini albums Void and Dawn, and the single album Red, and took their emotive pop rock on the road, including sold out European dates and a trip to the US. Woosung also stepped out on his own for the TV band competition Superband, where he finished fourth with the temporary group Moné, and the band even won an episode of Immortal Songs with a fresh take on a 1984 disco hit.
