The Saddest Landscape have been one of the more quietly essential names in American screamo since forming in Boston in 2002. Their sound sits at the intersection of raw emotional intensity and technical precision, drawing from screamo, post hardcore, and melodic hardcore in ways that have kept them relevant across multiple scenes and decades. Five studio albums document their trajectory, from early releases on smaller labels through to a pair of records on Topshelf, including Darkness Forgives in 2015. After a decade of silence on the album front, they returned with Alone With Heaven via Iodine Recordings, a double full length that features collaborations with Julien Baker, Jeremy Bolm, and Evan Weiss. The lead single Hexes offered the first taste, and the full record arrived in April 2026. It is a significant comeback from a band that never really lost its reputation, just went quiet for a while.
