About
The Special Forces is a five piece live band that mixes swing, soul and jazzy pop, the kind of set that works just as well in the background of a good dinner as it does when people start paying attention. Ewout Feenstra handles the vocals, with Joep van de Burgt on piano, Jan Peels on saxophone, Erwin Sommen on bass and Robert Hafkenscheid on drums. The group has been playing together for many years, and it shows in how relaxed and tight the lineup sounds. Having a sax and piano up front gives the pop and soul material a warm, jazzy edge, which makes them a natural fit for restaurant and evening settings where atmosphere matters as much as the songs.
