About

Sisters Jessica and Camilla Staveley Taylor have been making beautifully layered indie folk as The Staves for well over a decade, originally as a trio with their third sister Emily before she stepped back from the group. Their voices are the centrepiece, stacked in harmonies that can stop a room, and their records have leaned into that with producers who clearly agree: their debut Dead and Born and Grown was shaped by Glyn Johns and Ethan Johns, while the follow up If I Was brought in Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, who became a genuine collaborator and friend. That second album landed at number 14 on the UK Albums Chart. The band has spent years in good company on the road, supporting acts like The Civil Wars, Ben Howard, Florence and the Machine, and Bon Iver, even joining Bon Iver's Asia tour as part of the live lineup. Their third studio album Good Woman, produced by John Congleton, came out in 2021 and charted at number 13 in the UK. Most recently, they announced their fifth LP All Now, their first made purely as a duo.
