About
The UpSessions are a seven piece band that has spent well over a decade bringing Jamaican ska, rocksteady and early reggae back to life. They've built a sound that's unmistakably their own: a tight rhythm section, a punchy horn line, layered vocals and melodies that stick in your head after one listen. They've played Lowlands, Zwarte Cross, Mañana Mañana and Germany's This Is Ska Festival, stood on the stages of Paradiso and the Heineken Music Hall, and toured across Europe. Five albums in, they've started poking around in original ska, calypso and mento too, without letting go of the Jamaican roots music that got them going. Live, it's all about the grooves and getting people moving.
