About
The Virginmarys are a rock duo from Macclesfield who punch well above their weight. They started out as a trio, built a following through relentless touring alongside the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age, Slash, and Skunk Anansie, and released a string of self financed EPs before landing deals with Cooking Vinyl in Europe and Wind Up Records in the US. Their debut album King of Conflict came out in 2013, earned iTunes US Editor's Choice, and scored them Best Breakthrough Act at the Classic Rock Awards that same year. Their second album, Divides, arrived in 2016 produced by Gil Norton, kicking off with the single Motherless Land. After that, the band went independent and kept things moving on their own terms, putting out the EPs Sitting Ducks and Devil Keeps Coming, plus the album Northern Sun Sessions. Stripped down to two members, Ally Dickaty on vocals and guitar and Danny Dolan on drums, they have kept a raw, high voltage sound that sits squarely in hard rock territory.
