About
The Walking Who started as a psychedelic rock band out of Wollongong, Australia, before becoming the solo project of Rohin Brown, a multi hyphenate musician, audio engineer, record producer, and filmmaker. The band made early noise with their 2011 debut album Candy Flu, landing airplay on Sydney's FBi Radio and Triple J, and picked up enough momentum to win FBi Radio's Northern Lights Competition in 2014, which earned them a slot at Iceland's Airwaves Festival. They also shared stages with the Flaming Lips, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Kurt Vile at London's Citadel Festival. When Brown relocated to Europe in 2019 and adopted the name as his own, the project took a new direction. His 2021 EP Mr Cornelius came with an accompanying short film that Brown directed himself, and the film went on to pick up awards at the Cannes World Film Festival, including Best New Wave/Post Modern Film, Best Indie Short Director, and Best Soundtrack. It's a project that sits somewhere between music and cinema, which feels exactly right for where Brown has taken things.
