About
The Wedding Riot is a musicians' collective from Wageningen who have built a reputation around deep dive tribute performances of their favourite alternative acts. Over the years they have turned their attention to giants like Joy Division, Pixies and Radiohead, putting together full shows dedicated to each. Their approach goes well beyond a cover band run through: they dig into the full range of an artist's catalogue, chasing the intensity and mood of the originals rather than just the notes. For their PJ Harvey project they move across the whole arc of her work, from the raw, abrasive guitar sound of her early records through to the more cinematic and layered textures of Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea.
