The Wrecks built serious momentum the old fashioned way: a self recorded debut EP made in three days at a studio they accessed without the owner's permission, followed by a first single that racked up fifty million Spotify streams. Based in Los Angeles but hailing mostly from the east coast, the four piece of Nick Anderson, Nick Schmidt, Aaron Kelley, and Billy Nally play sharp pop rock with enough edge to pull in alternative radio fans. Their debut single "Favorite Liar" cracked the top forty on alternative radio back in 2016, and they spent stretches of that era opening for Nothing But Thieves and All Time Low. Their second EP, Panic Vertigo, came together in a barn studio in rural New York after the band blew their recording budget and ended up funding things through medical studies and minimum wage jobs. "Way With Words" from that EP was co written with Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low. Their debut album Infinitely Ordinary arrived in 2020, with singles like "Fvck Somebody" and "Freaking Out" earning mainstream radio play and cementing the band as a genuinely watchable act in the pop rock space.
