About
Thomas Gold's biggest early moment came from a remix. His 2008 take on Delerium's "Silence" climbed the Beatport download list and won Beatport's award for Best Progressive House Song, which opened the door to singles like "Don't You Want Me" and "Everybody Be Somebody". The Berlin producer started out making trance and gradually moved into progressive house and tech house, picking up releases on labels like CR2, Ministry of Sound, Positiva and Toolroom along the way. The summer of 2011 belonged to "Alive", a collab with Dirty South that hit number two on Beatport and was named an Essential New Tune on BBC Radio 1. Swedish House Mafia were early fans, regularly dropping his remix of Lady Gaga's "Judas" in their sets. He also remixed Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain", teamed up with Axwell on a remix that reached number three on Beatport, and landed at number 82 in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs in 2012. His Axtone compilation followed that year, and later work came out through Armada Music.
