About
Three for Silver is the project of Lucas Warford, a singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist once memorably described as the acid baby of Tom Waits and Les Claypool. That comparison gives you a fair idea of what to expect: eccentric, hard to categorise music that sits somewhere in southern gothic and folk punk territory, built around Warford's raw vocals and virtuosic bass lines. The band rounds out with Mark on drums, Del on woodwinds and Strangely on accordion, and together they weave in unusual instruments and playing styles in ways that feel genuinely unlike anything else around. Their seventh album, Oh! For a Muse of Fire, is a good place to start if you want to understand what all the fuss is about. Fans of Tom Waits, Gogol Bordello, Nick Cave or Primus tend to feel right at home.
