About
Too Many Zooz started as a busking trio in the New York City Subway, and a phone video of one of their Union Square performances going viral in March 2014 turned them into something much bigger. Leo Pellegrino on baritone sax, Matt "Doe" Muirhead on trumpet, and David "King of Sludge" Parks on drums play what they call "brass house", a genre blending mix of jazz, Afro Cuban rhythms, funk, EDM, and house music that sounds exactly as wild as that description suggests. From subway platforms they moved to theaters, tours, and some serious TV moments, including backing Beyoncé and the Dixie Chicks at the CMA Awards in 2016. Their track "Warriors" turned up in a Google Pixel 2 commercial and during the flag parade at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 Grand Final. Their debut album Subway Gawdz came out in 2016, and after a string of EPs they returned with their second full length record, Retail Therapy, in 2024.
