About
Italian rapper and producer Tormento built his foundation as part of Sottotono, a pioneering hip hop group that ran from 1991 until its split in 2001 and helped shape the Italian rap scene. After the group ended, he launched a solo career under the alias Yoshi Torenaga, releasing a string of albums including Il mondo dell'illusione, Il mio diario, and Alibi. He kept collaborating across different projects, notably teaming up with Primo for El micro de oro in 2014 and dropping his fourth solo record Dentro e fuori the following year. His 2019 comeback single Acqua su Marte, featuring J Ax, landed a high profile placement as the official song for the Women's Football World Cup on Sky Sport, giving him one of his most visible moments in years. Then in 2025 he stepped onto one of Italy's biggest stages, competing at the Sanremo Music Festival with La mia parola alongside Shablo, Guè, and Joshua.
