About

Melbourne rock band Trial Kennedy built a solid cult following on the back of two ARIA charting albums and a knack for writing tracks that Triple J couldn't stop spinning. Their 2008 debut New Manic Art landed at number 24 on the ARIA Charts, with singles like "Neighbours" and "Colour Day Tours" becoming fixtures on the station. Producer Nick DiDia handled the record, lending it a polished but punchy feel that suited their energetic style. Their second album, Living Undesigned, came out in 2011 and hit number 48 on the charts. "Strange Behaviour" was all over Triple J through the summer of 2010 to 2011, and Beat Magazine called the album "powerful, fun rock: dynamic, varied and full of energetic and catchy tunes." The band called it quits in April 2012 after a decade together, signing off with a final show at The Corner Hotel in Melbourne. In 2018, they reunited for a one off gig to mark ten years of New Manic Art.
