Trio Cor Nuiten XL is, despite the name, a band of eight or so distinct personalities who have spent more than a decade playing small theatres. Their thing is giving well known songs a new life: Dutch rewrites and layered, multi voice arrangements of material by the likes of Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Sting and even Britney Spears. The shows lean theatrical, with a cabaret flavour. Every song brings a different lead singer to the front and often a change of instruments too, so the sound keeps shifting. The line up includes Don van Dijke, Andries de Roode, Pim van Alten, Dorien Rozendaal, Caramay Schmelzer, Lola van Duijl, Merel Zeeman, Jeroen S. Rozendaal and Joost Witsenburg. Over the years they have built up a loyal following of fans who keep coming back.
