About
Trio James Oesi works with an unusual combination of instruments: double bass as a bowed melodic voice, joined by theorbo and electric bass guitar. The result is an ensemble sound that sits outside standard classical chamber music conventions, yet the group draws its repertoire from the Baroque canon, covering composers from Händel to Vivaldi. The blend of a plucked Renaissance lute instrument, an amplified bass, and an acoustic string instrument gives familiar melodies a distinctly different colour and texture.
