About
Pico Bello brings together three distinctive voices: trumpeter Eric Vloeimans, guitarist Mark Tuinstra, and percussionist Udo Demandt. The trio weaves African rhythms and Caribbean grooves with melodic improvisation, building music that shifts between quiet, introspective moments and bursts of exuberant energy. Vloeimans is known for a velvety trumpet tone and a career that spans jazz, classical and world music, earning him multiple Edison awards along the way. Demandt, trained at Codarts Rotterdam, draws on Latin American, Mediterranean and Oriental percussion traditions and has worked with artists including Magda Mendes and Fernando Lameirinhas. Tuinstra is a guitarist and composer who moves easily between jazz, world music and pop, with credits that include The Nordanians and Dr. Jordan Institute. Together the three make music that is playful and layered, an open celebration of the unexpected.
