About
Tuimelaar is a music performance for babies and very young children, created by Frisse Oren. The show brings together a percussionist, a clarinettist and a trumpet player who perform for an audience of children aged six to eighteen months, along with their parents or carers. The whole thing revolves around the theme of gravity, tumbling and rolling, and the music draws on the compositions of Taiwanese percussionist Yung Tuan Ku, whose work has roots in Asian musical traditions. Frisse Oren are known for physical, wordless performances that blend theatre and music, making their shows accessible regardless of cultural background or language. The group previously created Wiegeling, which took an Arabic lullaby as its starting point.
