About
Turpentine Valley from Zulte, Belgium make instrumental post metal that moves between crushing, massive weight and quietly melancholic melody, sometimes within the same song. The trio has been at it for about a decade, and their sound has grown more distinctive and uncompromising with each record. Their 2019 debut Etch, released on Dunk!Records, made an unexpected leap beyond the music scene when three of its tracks were selected for the soundtrack of the Belgian Netflix courtroom drama De Twaalf. The follow up Alder came out in 2022 on Dunk!Records, A Thousand Arms Records and Ripcord Records, and their third album Veuel appeared on the same labels. Across all three records the band keeps pushing at the edges of the genre, letting the music carry whatever meaning the listener brings to it.
