Few Dutch acts left a mark on early nineties eurodance quite like Twenty 4 Seven. Built around producer Ruud van Rijen, the group hit on a winning formula by pairing male rap with female vocal hooks, a template that would go on to define the genre. Their breakthrough came with "I Can't Stand It", which reached number seven in the UK and number three in Israel, and the momentum only grew when rapper Captain Hollywood joined alongside singer Nancy "Nance" Coolen. After his departure, Stay C and Nance fronted the group through their commercial peak, delivering the era defining "Slave to the Music" and follow up hits "Is It Love" and "Take Me Away". At their height, Twenty 4 Seven were considered one of the most successful eurodance acts in the world. The group has seen numerous lineup changes over the years, and by the early 2020s two separate versions were performing live simultaneously, one built around Nance, Jacks and Hanks, the other around Stay C.
