Tchad Cousins makes music under the name Urika's Bedroom, crafting bedroom pop from Los Angeles. Before landing in that quieter sonic territory, Cousins came up as a member of the punk band 2070, which gives their work an edge you wouldn't necessarily expect from the genre. Their 2024 debut album Big Smile, Black Mire was entirely self produced and self released, landing on True Panther Records and marking a real statement of intent. The record earned them enough attention to land support slots with Perfume Genius on the Glory Tour and with Nourished by Time, putting them in front of audiences well beyond their starting point.
