About
Van Zijl Consort is a classical ensemble from Groningen with a real soft spot for Bach. Their programmes also make room for work by Carlo Passionei and Rudolf Escher, which gives the baroque core a few less obvious companions. The group is led by harpsichordist Rigobert van Zijl. Flutes come from Jelmer Sjollema and Robert Jan van der Feen, and Eveline Peper plays cello. It is a small, chamber sized line up, and they sometimes team up with a guest vocalist, as they have done with soprano Dorien Deodatus.
