About
Vogelkind en Mammoetboom is a theatrical concert production created by music ensemble Oorkaan, aimed at young audiences and families. The show follows a brave young bird setting off on a journey to Africa, watched over by an ancient mammoth tree along the way. It is framed as a fairy tale audio play brought to life on stage by professional musicians and spoken word artist Jeannine Valeriano. Oorkaan's signature approach lets the music do most of the talking: performances are almost entirely without spoken text, with only musicians on stage. The production blends classical music from different eras and cultures into a theatrical and playful format, centering themes of nature, the earth and friendship.
