We Came as Romans are a metalcore band out of Troy, Michigan who have been refining their blend of crushing riffs, clean vocals, and electronic textures since forming in 2005. Over the course of seven studio albums, from the Joey Sturgis produced debut To Plant a Seed in 2009 through to All Is Beautiful... Because We're Doomed in 2025, they have built a reputation for music that balances aggression with genuine emotional weight. To Plant a Seed cracked the Billboard Top 200 and landed at No. 6 on the Top Heatseekers chart, announcing them as a serious force in the scene. The band has pushed through significant change over the years, including the death of vocalist Kyle Pavone in 2018, after which the remaining members chose not to replace him and instead channeled the loss into their ongoing work. Dave Stephens stepped up to handle both the harsh and clean vocal duties, and the band kept going. Their 2022 album Darkbloom and the 2025 follow up show a group that refuses to stand still, continuing to push their sound forward.
