About
Wesley Joseph operates across music, film and visual art with a fluency that makes genre labels feel beside the point. Born in Birmingham and raised in Walsall, he came up as part of the OG Horse collective alongside Jorja Smith before moving to London to study film. His debut project ULTRAMARINE, written and produced entirely by Joseph, featured collaborations with Jorja Smith, Joy Orbison, Leon Vynehall and Dave Okumu, and was mixed by Lexxx and mastered by Mike Bozzi, the engineer behind Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly. Early singles including "Ghostin'", co produced with Joy Orbison, drew coverage from the Guardian, British GQ and The Face. His debut album Forever Ends Someday collects 13 tracks that move freely between raw rap, soulful singing and cinematic production. It features a collaboration with Jorja Smith on "July", recorded in their shared hometown of Walsall, and a Danny Brown feature on "Peace of Mind". Joseph describes the record as drawing on soul, R&B, rap and electronic music, putting everything through his own lens rather than chasing a single sound.
