About
Wild Pink have been quietly building one of the more interesting catalogs in indie rock since forming in Brooklyn around 2015. The band led by John Ross deals in the kind of emotionally open guitar music that rewards close listening, and their run of albums through the late 2010s and early 2020s showed real growth with each release. Their third album A Billion Little Lights, out in 2021 on Royal Mountain Records, marked a notable moment for the band, followed shortly by a covers EP that ranged from Taylor Swift to Bruce Springsteen to the Jeopardy! theme tune, which gives you a sense of their sense of humor alongside the sincerity. They kept the momentum going with ILYSM in 2022, and in 2024 released their fifth studio album Dulling the Horns on Fire Talk Records. The current lineup features Ross on vocals and guitar alongside Arden Yonkers on bass, Dan Keegan on drums, and Mike Brenner adding steel guitar, a texture that gives their sound a warmer, more open feel than a lot of their indie rock peers.
