About
Also known as: Bird Dog
Wilderado came up with their name almost by accident, spotting a sign for the small Texas town of Wildorado on a late night drive and tweaking the spelling. The Tulsa indie folk band built their reputation the old fashioned way, grinding through tours and stacking up streaming numbers before most people knew their name. Their 2016 EP Latigo hit over 18 million Spotify streams and landed them on the road with Band of Horses, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Lindsey Buckingham. Their 2019 single Surefire, drawn from a poem by Tabitha King, earned a spot on Sirius XM Spectrum's picks of the week. The band's self titled debut album arrived in 2021, and they marked it with a TV appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live the following year. Their 2024 LP Talker pushed things further, and they landed a song on the soundtrack for the film Twisters, a track called Wall of Death featuring Ken Pomeroy and James McAlister.
