About
Will Wood is a New Jersey based singer, songwriter, comedian, filmmaker, and painter whose music refuses to sit still. His piano led songs pull from folk, jazz, rock and roll, Doo wop, Klezmer, and Latin music, often shifting styles dramatically from one track to the next. He performs with his band the Tapeworms, but also tours solo, weaving stand up comedy and storytelling between songs in a style that leans heavily into dark, absurdist humor. His 2020 release The Normal Album brought him a much wider audience, largely thanks to the track "I/Me/Myself" going viral, an experience Wood has spoken about with some ambivalence. His 2022 album "In case I make it," was crowdfunded and marked a significant personal reinvention for him. He has been open about past struggles with addiction and bipolar disorder, and donates a portion of merchandise and ticket sales to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. Beyond music, he has released a documentary about The Normal Album, a live concert mockumentary, and a comedy special called "Slouching Towards Branson."
