About
Wolf Mail is a Canadian born blues guitarist who has toured in over twenty six countries and put out eight albums, built on a mix of blues, soul, jazz and country. His playing runs from stop start staccato runs to fast, fluid lines, a feverish style that sits somewhere between Buddy Guy and Rory Gallagher. Elmore James was his first big inspiration, with Albert Collins, Johnny Winter and Peter Green shaping the sound along the way. He has taken his show to clubs and festivals across the US, Japan, Australia and Europe. His debut, Solid Ground, produced the ballad Hello, which sat in the Japanese sales charts for three weeks. Later records include Live Blues in Red Square, recorded in Moscow, and Electric Love Soul, cut in Los Angeles. In 2013 he toured Scandinavia supporting Johnny Winter, and his seventh album, The Wolf Is at Our Door, was recorded in Sydney and came out in March 2023, with a slow burn, bluesy, slightly psychedelic feel.
