About
Also known as: X!NK, Xink
X!nk are a Belgian pop punk band made up of two pairs of brothers: Jonas and Niels Meukens, and Thomas and Philip Valkiers. They shot to fame by representing Belgium at the very first Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, finishing sixth in Copenhagen with their self written track 'De Vriendschapsband', a song about how the band itself came together. Their debut album went gold in Flanders, and they became a familiar face at Belgian rock festivals like Marktrock in Leuven. They even recorded theme songs for the Flemish releases of Garfield and Ice Age: The Meltdown, with lead singer Jonas also voicing Jimmy the Anteater in the latter. After splitting in 2009, the band staged a comeback that kicked off with reunion shows in Brussels selling out almost instantly. New music followed, starting with the single 'Misschien', and the band played major festivals including Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop. Original bassist Philip Valkiers later departed, replaced by Jasper Mulier, and the band went on to release an album called 'Dag Nul'.
