YC, born Christopher Daniels Miller in Decatur, Georgia, made a serious splash in 2011 with "Racks", a collaboration with Future that spent 17 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit number 6 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. The mixtape it came from, Got Racks, racked up over 24 million downloads on DatPiff, which is a pretty wild number for a free release. He performed the single at the BET Awards that same year, and Gucci Mane showed up in the video, a sign of the Atlanta circles he was running in. Originally going by Yung Chris and coming up through the rap collective Block Boyz, he stepped away from the group to focus on solo work. His follow up single "I Know" featuring Yung Booke charted at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, and a remix with Ace Hood followed. He also popped up in videos alongside Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, and OJ da Juiceman, keeping his presence tight within Atlanta's rap scene.
