Yeat has built one of the more genuinely strange corners of contemporary rap, mixing rage beats, slurred cadences, and a vocabulary that feels like it belongs to no one else. Born Noah Olivier Smith and raised partly in Portland before heading to LA, he broke through in 2021 when tracks from his 4L mixtape and his debut album Up 2 Me started going viral on TikTok, with 'Money So Big' and 'Get Busy' leading the charge. That bell line from 'Get Busy' got quoted by Drake and Lil Yachty, which tells you something about how hard it landed. Since then he has kept a relentless pace. His second album 2 Alive debuted at number six on the Billboard 200, Afterlyfe cracked the top five, and 2093 hit number two. His fifth album Lyfestyle went all the way to number one, the first of his projects to top the chart. He also showed up on Drake's 'IDGAF', a track that peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit number one on the Global 200.
