About
Yildiz Gies mixes songs, poetry and spoken stories into one dreamy, introspective whole. She sings, tells stories and plays guitar, and her work lingers in those in between places: the edge of waking and sleeping, day and night, reality and fantasy. Her program Niemandsland was released in April 2025 as an LP with a book of lyrics, and it also exists as a song program for the stage. On stage she works with a band: Pieter Klaassen on guitar, Erik Harbers on double bass and Bj\u00f6rn vd Boom on percussion. She has played at Vurige Tongen, Oerol, Mascini and Horizontoer, so she has already built up a run of festival and theatre appearances in the Netherlands.
