Zoé are a Grammy and Latin Grammy winning rock band from Cuernavaca, Mexico, who built their following the hard way: self organized gigs, a self published demo, and word of mouth before any major label came knocking. Their sound pulls from grunge and Britpop roots and drifts into neo psychedelia, with Spanish lyrics at the core of their identity. Albums like Rocanlover, produced by Phil Vinall (who also worked with Placebo and Elastica), and Memo Rex Commander y el Corazón Atómico de la Vía Láctea debuted at number one in Mexico and proved they could fill the National Auditorium on a sold out night. Reptilectric, their fourth studio album, went platinum in Mexico and took them to Coachella, while a remix record and a Spanish market compilation with guests like Enrique Bunbury showed how far their reach had grown. The MTV Unplugged release Música de Fondo brought fresh interpretations of their catalogue alongside new songs, with collaborators including Bunbury and Denise Gutiérrez of Hello Seahorse!, earning the band nominations at the Latin Grammys and the MTV Europe Music Awards.
