De Weijer is a theater and meeting center in the middle of Boxmeer, in the east of North Brabant, at Raetsingel 1. It describes itself as the most beautiful and nicest theater and meeting center in East Brabant, and its position in the town center makes it an easy fixture for local audiences as well as visitors from the surrounding region. Although it works first as a theater, De Weijer regularly hosts concerts, and the programme travels well beyond local acts. Recent listings show a mix of styles and scales: the Dutch singer Lorrèn played there in November 2024, and the Belgian Blueprint Big Band stopped in Boxmeer on a short run of dates built around Belgian jazz history. Country and Americana also find a place on the calendar, with the Nashville Country Cafe Theater show scheduled for October 2025. The venue also appears on tour schedules for theatre concert programmes, such as the Tombaz Ensemble's Changement, which sits somewhere between a concert and a staged production. That blend of stage types is what defines the room. It suits touring jazz ensembles, singer songwriters and seated, narrative shows better than standing club nights, and artists passing through the Netherlands often slot it in alongside larger regional theaters and smaller castle and heritage venues. Beyond performances, De Weijer also serves as a meeting center, so the building is used for conferences and gatherings as well as evening shows, which gives it a broader role in Boxmeer than a purely programmed music hall would have.
