Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Nona
Dutch soul singer Nona built a devoted following through relentless gigging before she ever released a note on record. She cut her teeth playing bars, jam sessions and street corners before heading to New York to record with producers Likeminds, who had previously worked with John Legend and The Roots.
