Benelux Bar sits at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 83 in Amsterdam Noord, inside a former auto repair shop. The building has kept its garage character, and the raw, industrial feel runs across two floors. It is described as a multi purpose venue rather than a dedicated concert hall, and that flexibility shows in how the space is used: club nights, private dinners, weddings, film screenings, photoshoots and exhibitions all fit within its walls. During the day it works as a café and eatery, then shifts into a nightlife space once the evening programme begins. The focus after dark is on intimate club nights and dance music, with house, deep house and electronic sets appearing in its listings. The scale is small, which suits the kind of programming it favours, where the room is close to the DJ or live act. Its listings also show a side that goes beyond the dancefloor. A set of events around Amsterdam Dance Event week, for example, mixed Baile Funk nights and Brazilian funk club evenings with dance classes for beginners and experienced dancers. Masterclasses on building a signature sound in Ableton and on representation and power in artist booking sat alongside daytime house sessions and curated club nights. The venue has also hosted streaming events and workshops, and live electronic music concerts, such as a Runner show recorded for October 2025. Benelux Bar is a place where the programme moves between listening, dancing and learning, all within a converted garage on the Hamerkanaal.
