Purrfection & LuchiSveta Label Showcase

Kadinsky Cafe sits at Zoutsteeg 9 to 11 in the old centre of Amsterdam, in a building whose history reaches back to 1535 and an Anabaptist past. Over the centuries it became a coffeeshop and café, and the venue presents itself as established in 1986. One local tale attached to the place involves a spooky attic, and it features as a stop on a coffeeshop walking tour of the city. The small size of the room is part of its character, and the sources describe an intimate, relaxed setting rather than a large club floor. Music is what sets it apart from a typical Amsterdam coffeeshop. The café is the home of Kadinsky Sessions, a monthly gathering for fans of deep melodic and progressive house. A collective of experienced Dutch artists started the meeting point in 2019, and it has stayed free to attend. Residents have included Francesco Pico, Ras Paulus, Around Us, MC PPholl and VJ Gabriel, who play deep melodic, organic and progressive house. The sessions are also livestreamed, so people can follow along from home. Beyond the main series, the café hosts guest nights under the Kadinsky Invites banner, along with label showcases and collaborations with record labels and collectives. The venue becomes especially busy during Amsterdam Dance Event. In the 2025 edition, Kadinsky Sessions partnered with a long list of labels and organisations, among them Super Progressive, LuPS Records, Long Way Recordings, RKP Records, Magnitude Recordings and Manual Music. Its ADE programme runs from early afternoon into the evening and covers label sessions, meet and greets and celebrations, wrapping up with a closing party. The result is a small café that works as a meeting place for a specific corner of the electronic scene, where producers, labels and listeners of progressive and melodic house gather in one room.
