Def Leppard announces 2027 North American tour with Goo Goo Dolls

Def Leppard has announced an extensive North American tour for 2027. The band from Sheffield will play 45 shows, kicking off on March 2 at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The run wraps up on July 2 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Goo Goo Dolls are co headlining, with The Struts joining as special guest. The band themselves are promising a night packed with nonstop hits.

The route takes in major arenas across the United States and Canada, including Montreal, Toronto, Boston, Chicago and Denver. Madison Square Garden in New York and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles are also on the schedule. After the first batch of dates in March, the tour continues in April through Texas, the South and the Midwest, before heading to the West Coast and Canada in May. June and early July bring a long string of shows in the eastern part of the country.

The presale begins on Monday, October 12 at 10:00 a.m. local time, available through the band's fan club among other channels. General ticket sales start Friday, October 16. For every ticket sold, one dollar goes to City of Hope, an organization focused on cancer research and treatment. City of Hope was involved in the treatment of guitarist Vivian Campbell, who has been fighting Hodgkin lymphoma, a blood cancer, since 2013. Last year he reported that he was in full remission, but in August he revealed that the disease had returned. According to him, a donor transplant in January 2025 didn't take, and he is now being treated to keep the illness under control.

Meanwhile, the band is still very much on the road. The European leg of the Live 2026 tour wrapped up in July. Next week there's a one off show at Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, after which Def Leppard heads to Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia and Argentina over the coming month. Earlier this year they released the new single Rejoice, shortly before the start of a new residency in Las Vegas.

The band is staying busy in the studio too. Phil Collen said earlier this year that a new album is in the works, expected in 2027. Singer Joe Elliott talked in July about roughly eighteen songs on the working list, almost enough for two albums, from which the band wants to pick ten or eleven tracks. Collen named Queen as an inspiration: every band member contributes to each other's songs, which should make for a varied album.

Def Leppard also released a cover of David Bowie's Heroes. The recording will appear on a disc of rarities in the upcoming box set Volume 4. It's a new mix of an earlier recording that the band already used as intro music at their shows. For Dutch fans, the new tour dates mainly signal that the band will stay active in 2027. European dates for that year haven't been mentioned in the reports yet.
