Defqon.1 reveals theme The Deepening and first names for 2027

Q Dance has shared the first news about Defqon.1 2027. The theme of the next edition is The Deepening. That's a different choice than many visitors expected: last year the Sacred Oath took center stage, and since that edition was lost, there was a question of whether that theme would stick around. What exactly The Deepening involves hasn't been revealed yet.

The first artists have also been confirmed. Brennan Heart, Outsiders, Rebelion and Testarossa are on the lineup for Defqon.1 2027. Testarossa keeps his spot in the RED RACE on the mainstage, Outsiders handles the Opening Ceremony on Thursday, and Brennan Heart is getting ready for The Spotlight.

Q Dance also says there will be more room this year for up and coming talent and new music. The SILVER and PINK stages are entirely about innovation and experimentation. The GOLD and MAGENTA stages, on the other hand, take visitors back to the festival's roots. The same video included a few extra announcements: the Warrior Workout takes place on stage RED, everyone can submit their favorite hardstyle tracks for the Hardstyle Top 100, and there will be an official Defqon.1 radio show with music, exclusive firsts and new behind the scenes glimpses.

The backdrop to this announcement is an especially tough year. In 2026, Defqon.1 didn't go ahead because of extreme heat, which forced visitors from all over the world to head home. The weekend that tens of thousands of people look forward to every year passed them by. Visitors could choose between a refund of their ticket costs or a guaranteed ticket for next year.

That second option has had a clear effect: tickets for Defqon.1 2027 are already 75 percent sold. Regular ticket sales start toward the end of October this year, which means only a quarter of the tickets are still available. If you want to be there without already having a ticket, you can sign up in advance via the Defqon Wishlist, which is now open.
