50:HERTZ House & Techno Cafe Rembrandt Square

50:HERTZ House & Techno Cafe sits on Rembrandt Square in Amsterdam, one of the city's best known nightlife squares. Despite the word cafe in the name, it works as a small, music led venue focused on house and techno, with programming that runs from bass driven grooves and melodic journeys to hypnotic rhythms and peak time techno. Listings give two addresses for it, Rembrandtplein 45 and Halvemaansteeg 14, both in the same corner of the city centre. A related listing also refers to a sister location, a House Cafe on Leidse Square.

The venue has a long association with the Amsterdam Dance Event. It has appeared in the festival's programme as part of the Original House Music Showcase, with documented editions in 2018 and 2019, and it is categorised there among the intimate venues that host daytime events as well as night time club sessions. That daytime and night time split is a defining feature: during ADE week the room can carry an afternoon showcase and a late club night on the same date.

The 2026 schedule shows how varied that programming can be. Events include the STHETICS Showcase, the NAFL and X Raid Label Showcase, the Red Trail Radio Showcase with melodic and progressive sounds, and the Xpressive Showcase, which mixes trance, afrobeats, house and melodic styles. Other bookings include RELO4D invites: The Illumi'Naughties, the British house and techno collective Groove Kitchen playing live, and the Talkback Heads and Friends after party. Several of these are listed as free festival events, which fits the venue's approachable, street level setting right on the square.
